A Poor Man's Love

Windows rattle and walls shake

Coldness stings and stomachs ache

But no amount of money could ever buy

The love that's share between you and I

Poverty strikes like lightning bolts

Electricity runs on zero volts

The bills are piling mountains high

But it cant stop us, you or I

Car's outta gas, fridge outta food

Body's outta energy and attitude

Mind is weary, no water supply

But it won't stop the love of you and I

House is gone, no clothes on our backs

Left to wander winding tracks

No money, poor health, nowhere to lie

But we still got the love of you and I

Homeless or hopeless, don't matter to me

You know there's nowhere I'd rather be

Whether we're rich, poor, or ready to die

At least we still got the love of you and I
