A Poet's Journey
Location
Pen touches paper
Ink touches sheets
The marks on my skin
Are the words you can read
I let it all go
I stop and unwind
For a girl who gets bullied
My escape was to write
I wrote about friends
Both real and not
I wrote about boys
The ones I thought were hot
I’ve grown up since then
I’m better now
It took lots of work
But a poet learns how
Through the quotes of others
And memories of old
I’ll achieve my dreams
And let my poems unfold
They’ll fill up each page
Of my life’s storybook
I’ll look back someday
On the years that it took
To perfect all my poems
And write all these lines
It started from bullies
When I was just nine.
