Poetry is True

Poetry is true

But what if I'm running circles around you

We're caught in our love letters and lost graces

We're lost in thought as we chase stars

mingling with each other's bodies and finding

Struggling to part but still stay true

Trying to admit that I've fallen in love with you

My doubts lurk in darkness like the monsters I fear

Your sincerity is calming I love when you're here

Practice makes perfect but perfection is deception

Against the flaws and ignorance I'm so used to having

One blink and I'm gone again, lost in my mind

Fairytale dresses battle superhero costumes

Now the girls bathroom battles the boys bathroom

I'm at a standstill

But we'll cause no commotion
