Poetry Slam: Open the Book First

Location

Open the book first

Before you judge it.

It may be a habit or possibly a curse,

Regardless don't speak about others,

Unless you know them well,

Close like brothers.

Before you speak those doubtful words,

Just know that not everything is how it appears.

Those hurtful words can turn into tears

And can become some of the biggest fears.

Everyday people are percieved otherwise,

Because unknown to others,

Their life is told in lies.

It makes me tick when I hear judgemental lyrics,

People need to stop acting like critics.

Open the book

You may be surprised what you find.
