Poetry, My Living Water

I was not born in a usual way

Not a specific hospital, time or place

My life started through my paper and pen

I bursted into life going in for the win

My words spit out fire, I made people think

"She's the epitome of wisdom", for I refused to sink

My thoughts followed a rhythym and my words a scheme of rhyme

My blood pumped creativity and when I spoke I stopped time

Poetry became my voice, my only place in the world

As a teen it's my escape route, where my deepest feelings unfurled

As others spoke against me, the enemy came to kill

Poetry's my strongest foundation, I won't be shaken, for eternity I stand still

Please don't take my words lightly, but digest them if you will

For I speak power and strength, this in others I instill

Writing's my key to freedom, these words define me

For I live poetry

I bleed poetry

I eat, sleep and breathe poetry

Everyone has a purpose or something they can't live without

Writing is how I express myself.

The wisdom from my words is what I'm about
