I want you to catch me writing

Lean over my shoulder while I’m engrossed inside of words and rhythm

Find your eyes inside my descriptions of the sunshine

Feel my lips against yours as my pen strokes love the page

Find my heartbeat and dance with me

Embrace the piece of my soul I am pouring out

And join me on my journey until I am finished

Weaving my latest dream

Then dip your hands into my soul

And hold me to your heart

Tell me whether you find me beautiful

If I am good at showing what is deep inside

And if I am beautiful to you

Then draw me out from the corner of my heart

Twirl me in a tight circle until I am firmly planted in you

Give me an inspiration for as long as we can continue dancing

And even if one day the last song of us ends

I hope that you’ll still find me as beautiful as I find you inspiring

That occasionally we’ll be able to dance one more time

And at the end you’ll whirl me back to pen and paper

With no desire to look over my shoulder

I have the satisfaction is simply knowing

I scheduled a meeting at the Language and Culture center to brush up on my Italian

Ate a pack of ramen noodles

Put on my Pj’s I bought in DC

And went to sleep listening to Kendrick Lamar and Miley Cyrus

This is my world
