A Poem for Almost Mothers
As I sit in this room today,
I see a bright futures of
Doctors that will find a cure for cancer
Lawyers that will participate in the trial of the century
Military officers that will lead soldiers into the great victory
Teachers that will teach the future great minds
Politicians that will become Presidents and Senators
World record setters
Travelers and leaders in world peace
Entrepreneurs and business people
College professors
Religious leaders
Actors and models
Poets and novelists
But we will never be those great things
We will never learn how to ride a bike
Or have a first day of school
Or have our first kiss
Or hold our first child
Or get wrinkles and gray hair
We will never have any of that
Because we died before our lives even began
We are miscarriages
But we loved our mothers from our very first heartbeat
To our very last
Those were the best times of my life
They were the only times of my life
But I loved every last second
