Please See Me

Please see me
As a friend, and as a common skeleton, for ebony is a strong wood.
I am too a son, look past the flesh you see.

And when you see me, it need not be in glee,
For I have made my mistakes. I just ask if you could
Please see me.

We are berth from a similar cradle, in a similar tree.
But we are misunderstood.
I am too a son, look past the flesh you see.

Mr. King had a dream that one day we
Will walk hand in hand. If only you would
Please see me.

I too have dreamt a dream that we will be free.
That we will escape this heat for good.
I am too a son, look past the flesh you see.

I am hopeful you will one day agree
To move into a new day of adulthood.
Please see me,
I am too a son, look past the flesh you see.
