A plate filled to the brim

Psalm 34:8 New English Translation (NET Bible)

Taste and see that the Lord is good!
How blessed is the one who takes shelter in Him!

I filled a plate with imaginary desires,

I just wanted to see who would gorge away.

Who would stuff themselves in a moment

and who would save some for a rainy day?

After some chewing and gorging

some truly thought it to be real.

Was it intended to be scorching

their simple souls through a fake appeal?

Who is it who is constantly feeding?

The masses who have lost their taste?

Is it the media and our leaders

or the greedy for gain in haste?

The deceit is here in quite a hurry

to flavor facts and marinate truth,

until the facts are quickly buried

in the human mind as one aloof.
