The Pit

I have lived in the pit of your cruelty

I have slept on the cold, dark ground

with the worms and your guilt

Waiting for some god damn Warmth

My only companion a faceless shadow of a man who would tell me everyday,

"You can leave now"

So I did

The curiosity of you is gone

The pit is tall and wide,

but I can see the sun and feel my heartbeat echoing off the walls

No one belongs in the pit
