Pink + Blue - Together

Thu, 06/09/2016 - 19:18 -- Kororia

There’s never been a way out of it, these gender roles, these confinements, these chains you put on me weighing me down.

It’s either pink or blue, black white, rich poor, minority majority.

There is no grey, no in-between, no self, no… freedom.

All I wanted was to be good enough, somebody for everyone.

I’m trying so damn hard to please! You, me, society.

You – look at me as if no one’s home, peaking through the blinds I keep closed.

I can’t be what you want me to be. I don’t fit into this or that box.

You’ve taught me to be true to myself along with respecting others and now, I see you as the biggest hypocrite god could produce.

You expect me to draw in a white canvas with pink paint, but I see the canvas perfect as it is and you certainly don’t let me mix the two, pink and blue, together.
