Pink and Orange Undertones

The cool wind subsides

and a warm light filters into the room.

My body melts into my bed

and I bring myself to consciousness.

They are also just now waking,

and squirming under the covers.

They open their eyes, but only for a moment.

I take my hand and lazily

run my fingers through their hair.

The light shifts

up to their face,

and I quietly admire

their soft features.

After a moment, I pull

my hand away.

The cool breeze returns momentarily,

and I bury myself under

the warm blanket again.

They sleepily take their arm and wrap it around me.

Warming me.

And the pink and orange undertones consume me.
