Philipeans

The homeland of my great grandfather, and the distraction comes in the form of  water

I look on the news of this sort, my blood needs a fort

my color is not the same, but I carry their name

Where is their fate set, the relatives I never met

Faces imprinted in my chest as letters, I send to the one who knows they matter

This poem is very powerful. I can feel the conflict you are experiencing. Nice brevity and imagery. Really strong and heartfelt. Liked this!
