Peter ... impulsive

Matthew 14:26-28

26 When the disciples saw him walking on the water they were terrified and said,

“It’s a ghost!” and cried out with fear. 27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them:

“Have courage! It is I. Do not be afraid.” 28 Peter said to him,

“Lord, if it is you, order me to come to you on the water.”

Peter

Peter was a fisherman or he liked it is not known.

A way to make a living ... even though that was hard

After the Resurrection he returned to what he knew well

To throw a net overboard ... with or without his heart.

The nets surely needed mending after he’d been gone so long.

He was very determined ... to provide for his own.

He did not do too well for after whole night fishing

He had not caught a one ... his failure now well-known.

A voice then called out: “Fish on the other side of the boat”

The net hereafter came up ... full of fish of every sort.

Peter got exited ... and jumped into the water.

“It is the Lord”, he hollered while swimming to the shore.

Could Peter have walked on water ... why did not he think about it?

Was “His” faith not strong enough ... to run into God’s arms?

I guess he was not thinking ... being so overjoyed

No need to think about it now ... for in Christ there is no harm.
