Persephone

Wed, 07/31/2019 - 19:24 -- Lizten

There was a girl

(There was a queen)

Who played in the meadows

(Who spoke to the earth itself)

Whose mother loved her

(Whose mother controlled her)

And she was stolen

(And she ran away)

She was taken to hell

(She ran to hell)

(It was heaven)

Her mother was worried

(Her mother was angry)

She was tricked into staying

(She chose to stay)

And when her mother found her, she was glad to go home

(And when her mother came, the queen refused to leave)

There is a queen

Who wears the green of spring in her dress

With pomegranate red on her lips

And she is life

And she is death

And she is happy
