Here I sit all by myself,
My life displayed on this little shelf,
And as I pack each piece up,I can't help but think that
Something, oh something,
Something went wrong.
A song can't heal
What no one can feel.
Wrapped up in a seal,
That isn't worth the protection.
Why, oh why, can't I save my life?
As woman so full of sass and strife,
Why, oh why, can't I save myself
From what I have become?
All it takes is one strong hand,
To pull me up from the blackest lands.
Darkness fades, and light comes from within,
From a hand bound to self and sin.
Sadness unravels, from voices astray,
It calms and fades, at the beginning of each day.
Why, oh why, did it have to be me?
Will I ever be set free?
Why, oh why, can't I save my life?
As woman so full of sass and strife,
Why, oh why, can't I save myself
From what I have become?
Take me away, take me away,
Take me away from here.
Let me leave that part of me,
That will never, ever be set free.
