Perfection Versus Hope

Perfection.
She is such a elegant word.
She dances so beautifully across ones tongue and into the air.
Our world has become obsessed with her;
It's easy to see why.

Perfection.
She is an enemy in disguise.
She puts others at too high of standard.
She mocks those who cannot have her.
It can become a constant battle.

This battle with perfection,
It can get lonely,
Scary.
It can leave one in depths of dispair.

Perfection is a goal so often set.
She gets in the way of the real hero of our world: Hope.
Hope is the light at the end of a dark tunnel.
Hope is who I wish to be as an adult.
I will be hope as a counselor for young adults and children
and bring more light and hope into the world.
