Perfect Pictures

A prettily painted picture
Deemed perfect by all,
Drawn to the Badlands within high school walls.
Slipping behind corners
Hiding in empty classrooms,
Her disease spread like mushrooms;
Spores destined to find their place in selected students.
While promising protection she symbolized destruction,
Always aware of the damage she could do nothing about.
She was the house and the inhabitant was doubt,
Results of pressure from school, her dad, and brother,
Artemis lived her life feeling secluded.
To everyone around, she was a perfectly painted picture.
