Perfect Imperfections

He didn’t fit into the “in crowd”
Just because he wasn’t allowed.
But coming home to screams and shouts.
His heart started to fill with doubts.

Not even having a father there.
Coming home to a mom who didn’t care.
But all she did was complain.
Both hearts were in so much pain.

No one knew his story.
But no one care to even ask.
Even when they heard his cries.
They would laugh.
But never saw those lies.
Behind those eyes.
But even through his perfect imperfections.
He still had directions.
To those perfect imperfections.
They had some type of connection.
To those perfect imperfections.
Oh those perfect imperfections.

She came off the bus with a long day of tears.
Hoping no one will count or see her fears.
Walking through the front door.
She immediately drops to the floor.

Hearing the screams and the shouts.
Coming from door to door, she counts.
Her mom telling her to do what she needs to do.
Not knowing her daughter’s point of view.

No one seemed to understand.
Left her barred in the sand.
No way to get out.
She’s gone, no doubt.
Still here to please her mom.
It feels like “childmaid.com”.
But even through her perfect imperfections.
She still had directions.
To those perfect imperfections.
They had some type of connection.
To those perfect imperfections.
Oh those perfect imperfections.

One day, out of the blue.
That’s when they both met someone knew.
Bumped into each other.
Fate brought them to one another.
Talked and cried on each other’s shoulder.
It soon became colder.
They finally sat down to talk.
But it soon ended in a walk.
Telling a boy she just met, “I’m no good. Just confess.”
He never once had to guess.

No matter what you’ve been through.
I’ll always be here beside you.
I never once saw your flaws.
Because you’re the one who stood tall.
You’re a beauty in disguise.
I love looking into your eyes.
And wiping away your cries.
But even through those perfect imperfections.
You’ve always managed to stay strong.
And move along.
To those perfect imperfections.
They don’t make you who you are.
They don’t see you shinning like a star.
Like I do.
Oh all those perfect imperfections.
Don’t let them keep you down.
To all those perfect imperfections.
You’re just another infection.
