Pedestal

Okay, this is a song too, so it's a little long...

Pedestal

The words twist with jagged edges,

Barbed wire on their lips

Glittering silver compliments

With shiny blades attached

Cunningly weaved from the best of deceivers

If you heard the insults, you wouldn’t believe them

Silk fluffy ball gowns

With bracelets of jewels

Studded gold plate wear

And soft velvet shoes

A kingdom of luxury, gossip, and bliss

But beware of the poison that comes with each kiss

Oh the Pedestal

The One who rules them all

Depending on the fancy of society

The mix of manners and impropriety

To be respected is to be wretched and not get caught

The best of these are the worst of them

Oh, the very worst of our lot

Sitting on the Pedestal

Beautiful monsters, beautiful pains

Fantastic in, their frigid steel chains

Pretty lives, and pretty faces

With blackened hearts and spotless cages

Wolves among men

Dressed in the most clever of disguise

Oh the Pedestal

The One who rules them all

Depending on the fancy of society

The mix of manners and impropriety

To be respected is to be wretched and not get caught

The best of these are the worst of them

Oh, the very worst of our lot

Sitting on the Pedestal

After all…

Who questions depravity?

Who questions the savagery?

When it sits on the pedestal of humanity?

Oh the Pedestal

The One who rules them all

Depending on the fancy of society

The mix of manners and impropriety

To be respected is to be wretched and not get caught

The best of these are the worst of them

Oh, the very worst of our lot

Sitting on the Pedestal

The worst of ‘em

Are the best of ‘em

But you’ll still see me with the rest of ‘em

Because I’m climbing the Pedestal like all the other fools

Who want the glory,

Who want to rule,

Oh, you’ll still see me with the rest of ‘em

The worst of ‘em

The best of ‘em

Oh the Pedestal

The One who rules them all

Depending on the fancy of society

The mix of manners and impropriety

To be respected is to be wretched and not get caught

The best of these are the worst of them

Oh, the very worst of our lot

Sitting on the Pedestal

Sitting on

Oh they’re sitting on

Dear sitting on

The Pedestal
