From PBJ to College

Like a PB and J with too much jelly,

Growing up is too sweet at times.

Sometimes your bread gets soggy,

And you scrunch up your face from the texture.

Other times it has too much peanut butter.

You slap your lips just to get it loose.

You almost choke because your mouth is too dry.

When I got into college,

The joy was too sweet.

When I failed my first project,

I thought I knew better than my professor.

When I got my first bill for school,

I felt like I was going to choke.

Growing up is like a PB and J,

Sometimes you make it perfect,

And nothing leaves you more satisfied.
