The Patriot

I Pledge Allegiance to the Flag of The United States of America…

He says his pledge each day
He rises for colors each morning
Standing at attention
Right hand by his right brow
With pride swelling in his chest

This man has seen war
He was born and bred to serve
He would fight his country’s fight
Across oceans, away from wife and kids
Praying to return to them safely one night

At home, he is a soldier
Having fought on the frontline
For his loving kids and adoring wife
He fights for their freedom and safety
By defending ours and risking his life

That patriot is a brother
An uncle, a confidant, a friend
He may be the proudest of fathers
A son with a brighter future
Fighting for Uncle Sam’s daughters

O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave…

To speak these words are glorious
If you live them and believe
Hold them high and hold them true
And live like the patriot
Bleeding red, white, and blue
