Patch of Sky

I sit here with my patch of sky

It's clear and blue and wild and free

It asks me if my heart is true

And what with my eyes do I see

I sit here with my patch of sky

It's close and gray and sad and still

It asks me what I'm scared to say

And what secrets make my heart ill

I sit here with my patch of sky

It's white clouds ghost across it's face

It asks me what i wish to learn

And what keeps me in this place

I sit here with my patch of sky

It's dark and rolls with fits of rage

It asks me why I burn with hate

And why I seek to turn the page

I sit here with my patch of sky

Obscured by lies and failed truths

I ask it why it hides away

And how these falsehoods hide the proofs

I sit here with my patch of sky

New-found it only shows to me

That like a mirror, it can't lie

And once again it helps me see
