Past Midnight Rondeau

Location

Sisters' limbs intertwined under

a flickering flame in summer.

Chanting "bloody Mary" and feeling

quite insane. In a circle kneeling,

our bloodless family will blunder.

We're stalking haunted streets in wonder,

laughing in and at the dark cover

that shrouds youthful, drunk feet reeling.

Sister's interlocked fingers under

A moon covered by clouds of thunder;

They hide their midnight life from another

world that shuns tributes to feeling

and similar dark acts of healing.

Our only refuge; midnight in summer

and the twined arms of my sisters under.
