What is your passion?
Is it real? Is it edgy? Does it make other peoples’ heads spin?
Is it a little crazy? But more importantly, is it a passion to win?
What do you have to lose, following your passion?
What is at stake? Could it stop you from getting where you need to be?
At least, that is what you’ve been conditioned to contemplate.
No one follows their passion anymore. No one truly follows their dreams.
We do what society tells us we need to do, at least to us, sometimes it seems.
When’s the last time you took a step back and said, “Is this what I really want?”
To live the life I currently live, or is Father Time chuckling with Mother Earth,
using my life to taunt.
Yes, it is true, times can get rough, but we can stand strong and stick together
If and only if we see that we need each other
We do not need to wander this road alone
We do not need to become another clock puncher, another mindless drone
We can be anything we want to, but this is easier said than done
Many of us claim we want it all, but work they put in none
For those who are genuinely hungry, those who have the innate incentive, the pure egoless drive
Those are the ones who are willing to sacrifice, who will put in the long hours, the ones who will thrive.
It is not by nurture nor is it nature that the will to succeed comes from in terms of the source of its inception
It is through trial and error, through blood, sweat, and tears that passion brings our goals to fruition
We the people, one nation created unequal, intended to shoot for the sky (this is what most of us tell our children, but usually right after we sigh)
Why? Why must we sigh? Is it apathy? Self-complacency? Loss of the drive? Of confidence? Of prominence? Why do we tell others to do as we say, but not as we do?
We need to set the example, at least I will, starting now, how about you?
