Party for one

I descend deeper in the dent you made in my heart

Slowly chipping away at me

What had been the shallow end

transformed into an extensive ocean

I knew I'd be here a while so I made myself comfortable

I was waiting for you to join me

Enclosed in my growing solitude

To bask in your work

Will you ever surface?

Checking the clock so often

The numbers slowly starting to fade away

Time soon only became a concept

One that I could not seem to grasp

So I poured myself a drink

And wondered how long it would take

for this medicine to heal the crack in my cardiac

But alas

I waited for you to join me

Still enclosed in my growing solitude

To have basked in your work

But you never surfaced
