Part of Me

Location

"Love is simply a rush of emotions,

that I can't quite distinguish,

that cause me to hope for forever so i can imagine

spending it with you."

As each word escaped her, I boarded a hypnotizing state.

Part of me escaped with her words into ecstasy,

into a dream

This part of me escaped to the climax of happiness,

In a cloud of ecstasy, I stand in the grade of her presence.

In my hand a little black box filled with a representation of our love,

Two words softly escape me,

"Marry Me?"

Part of me stayed, standing in the midst of reality,

in the realization that this can't be.

We can't be,

Suppressed by the laws of our beloved country,

Laws inspired by Christianity

A religion

Yet,

The Constitution states,

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion"

Our love is not seen as equal because of a hypocritical society

Our love is seen as an abomination

There is no marriage equality

Homosexuality is wrong

But,

I Love You

Just as much as he loves his wife,

Just as much as she loves her husband

"Love is simply a rush of emotions,

that I can't quite distinguish,

that cause me to hope for forever so I can imagine

spending it with you"
