Paper

Paper

I was born and the doctor handed me this paper

Yes a certificate!

I’m certified!

I’m alive!

Flash forward now I’m about five

I’m spending time writing on paper for about the next decade of my life

I have graduated and the principal handed me this paper

Yes a diploma!

Finally Free!

Free to be me!

Flash forward now I’m about eighteen

I’m spending my time with college paper for about half a decade of my life

I have graduated again and the dean handed me this paper

Yes a degree!

Thanks to my tutors!

I have a future!

Flash forward now i’m about twenty-six

I’m spending my team working for paper to pay off college for the rest of my life

I’ve fallen in love and the court handed me this paper

Yes I’m married!

it’s so lovely!

She loves me!

Flash forward I’m about thirty-two

I’m spending my time hating what I’m supposed to love

I have died and the government made me a death certificate

Finally Peace!

Rest!

I’m blessed!

Flash forward I’m an immortal soul

I’m spending my time watching this endless cycle seal the fate of the future
