Overcame

When I was a kid
My opinion meant very little to others
I was told that silence is better than to be heard
This became a problem for me
Because society constantly made me out to be the enemy
And my peers always saw me differently
And no matter the pain they had caused me
I had to sit there in silence and let it go on
This cycle continued until I graduated
Eigth grade was a mess now its time to impress
Freshmen year in a whole new location
Feeling relieved cause nobody knows of me
This year I will change
Ill keep changing until the end of my days
No more fearing that my silence will come back
No more fearing that the bullies will strike back
And if they do again this time ill be prepared
This time I have ammunition that comes with unlimited bullets
And a bulletproof vest for the ones you fire back at me
