Out of Many, One
E Pluribus Unum.
Out of many,
One.
One lost hope,
One country fallen from grace,
One administration
Ripped apart by division and chaos.
One American dream
That we only see in our heads at night,
One American identity
Lost in the dust of the years gone by.
Out of many,
One.
One struggle for racial equality.
Blacks and whites fighting on the streets.
Hate, erupting like a volcano.
One fear, one injustice, one anger.
Out of many races and faces,
One outcry, one hardened heart.
No unity in civil rights;
The stream of justice runs dry.
Out of many,
One.
One broken education system.
Children in crumbling classrooms.
Teachers with defeated hearts.
One core, one divide, one startling dropout rate.
Out of many children,
It is about the survival of the fittest, not
Bettering the brains of all.
Out of many,
One percent.
The rich get richer and the poor get poorer.
One economic divide.
Income inequality rates among the highest in the world.
The wealthy consume grocery stores while
Urban poor consume crumbs.
No socioeconomic unity or bridge across the chasm.
One percent controls all.
Out of many,
One.
One divide over one union,
One chaos over one peace,
One individual over one collective.
