"Our" world

Proverbs 16:18                       New English Translation

18 Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall.

Self-importance, self-conceit, where does it all come from

Does it travel from Satan, who evokes that attitude?

Is it  possibly based on pride, which also is infected

By that old serpent, as he destroys our fortitude?

What matter of spirit I am, is that possibly the question?

Is it one of criticism or maybe condemnation?

What about cynicism or constant frustration?

Don’t forget about wrath and mental constipation.

Jealousy and envy seem for a lifetime on probation

All the baggage we hang on to keeps our full attention

Our wants, wishes, and desires are better not mentioned

As that hidden part is too far beyond our comprehension
