Our Town

We're walking hand in hand, up and down these streets.

All we hear are footsteps matching our heartbeats.

The town around us lives; it seems to almost breathe.

We act like we're alone, but people fill the streets.

People walking here and there, smiling as they pass.

I smile back at each of them, then smile at my lass.

The sky has gone all dark now, but her eyes have gotten bright.

The town it seems to liven, blinding me with light.

Walking until we arrive at an apartment so pristine.

We prepare to go to sleep, then cuddle until we dream.

We slip into a world, controlled by you and me.

Walking hand in hand, up and down these streets. -TK
