Orpheus the Lonely Lover

Orpheus is a lonely lover though his songs ensnare and entrance.
Orpheus can keep no other because he keeps looking back. Orpheus plays his lyre and sings about the love he once had.
His true love is in the depths of hell with no hope of coming back.
In night clubs, on sidewalks near streets, this tragic tale brings new hearts as desperate as his.
Orpheus can take his pick of the broken hearts just as long as he sings. When Orpheus picks a heart he feels as if it will last.
He compares his new heart to his first love as if it would bring her back.
“Your eyes,” says Orpheus, “sparkles as hers did.”
“Your hair is as pretty as hers. Your lips remind me of hers. Let your heart be mine and I’ll love as I once did.”Once Orpheus plays his love song oh how a heart says yes!
Until he keeps comparing his new love to the past. “Like hers, like hers, like hers,” is the best compliment Orpheus can give.
At first its sweet, but over time his words mean nothing. Orpheus can play as many love songs as he likes on his lyre.
Eventually, his turning head is what keeps the hearts from staying because they can’t be her. Orpheus is a lonely lover though his songs ensnare and entrance.
Orpheus can keep no other because he keeps looking back.
