There grew a tree in my yard,

Planted by Eve,

Roots seven years deep.

Then I came.

There grew a tree in my yard,

The humble abode,

Of my Scarlet Tanager,

Feathers of prehnite,

Seven years.

My Scarlet Tanager,

Carried me across land,

Could’ve fallen.

Flew me across the river,

Of blue topaz,

Deep azure,

Let me go.

Never felt more alive.

My scarlet tanager.

One flight.

My tree.

They write.
