Open eyes

Thu, 02/06/2020 - 00:41 -- Eseose

Eyes closed

 curled up

 in the corner,

 crying

 her hand on my shoulder

she told me

 open your eyes

 take this world on

 it’s just your size.

 This world eats little girls,

  it’ll be your demise.

We have no time for crying

so don’t listen to their lies.

They'll believe in pink and purple skies.

They’ll tell you there is no purpose and that the end is the prize

well little girl, let me tell you that's unwise

every moment here that is the prize

we aren't here just to survive

 but to enjoy every sunrise,

and all the warm July's filled with butterflies,

and I wish I could tell you just how beautiful this life is,

 and just what to resist,

but in this, I can’t assist.

So you have to go through this life with open eyes,

and you can’t let life pass you by,

and most of all don’t let it take to by surprise.
