The One She'd Never Known
The memories she chokes on
Have her sprawled out on the floor.
A grimace gentle lips don.
Wrenching sobs make dear souls sore.
She curls up in a chamber
Of a beating broken heart.
Though this soul holds no anger,
In time the fire will start.
The shock sends stinging shivers
Through the limp and useless arms
In response to pain which hurt delivers,
Slicing deep and causing harm.
Why choose the one whose depth is real
To leave lying in her tears?
Every ounce of pain she feels
As the bluntest words ring clear.
Tonight she mourns in silence in the darkness on her own,
Leaking from her eyes for the one she’d never known.
