One Job may Change My Life
One Job May Change My Life
In a small town, born and raised,
My life spent in an ignorant haze;
I thought I had it made,
I always got the grade.
Then, one day, it all changed,
And my thoughts were all exchanged;
Up was down and down was up,
Half-empty, half-full, which was my cup?
What was the point of my whole plan?
Would my life change the life of man?
I knew not what path I should take,
But I hoped to leave good in my wake.
Through my struggle, through all my hurt,
A sole action brought me comfort;
In all my confusion, one thing came to light:
I, a puzzled young girl, could write.
With an unconventional process of thought,
A new perspective I brought;
Now I knew my final goal,
I’d found that which made me whole.
Though my work was viewed by only a few,
I longed for a crowd to thrust it unto.
My dreams for this career are quite rife;
I know this one job may change my life.
