One Girl’s Journey

Location

Once upon a time, there was a girl who tried to rhyme

About her life’s journey.

With all her soul, she wanted to reach her goal

Of healing those on a gurney.

She went to college to get some knowledge

In matters of biology.

With this degree, she hoped to see

A future studying cardiology.

It may seem bizarre to want to work in the ER

But she’s unique, as they say.

She started to volunteer to make sure this was the career

To bring her joy everyday.

The job of the doctors, she found, seemed quite drowned

In paperwork of “Subject presents…”

And the patient interaction was quite lacking in satisfaction

In terms of the time spent.

The nurses’ job was quite sweet ‘cause they were the ones to treat

The poor people who contracted mange.

But it was her senior year and Alas, Oh Dear!

It was late for her major to change.

So now she wants to be a nurse but has no money in her purse

To pay for a second school.

She wants to win the money so she can be the sunny

Nurse who collects your stool.
