rain falls in a tear-like way
pouring words we dare not say.
when Glory’s gone and Pride’s away,
Sin and Grief are all that stay.

long roads they wind and travel on
While the ones who walked them are Faded, Gone.
the lonely mountains are lonelier still—
left with snow and broken will.

One by One by One by One
we fall under the noontime Sun
the ash and soot that cloud the sky
leave it shattered, left to die.

the battles we ourselves commit
have left us with a barren pit.
while fires burn and powers soar
our hearts are forced to drown in gore.

lives they once felt bound to protect
are suffering under abuse and neglect.
see how the children run and hide
they hang with sadness and suicide.

One by One by One by One.
a mother holds her baby close
and Luna mourns her Helios
the dark was masked, the secrets kept
to hide it all, the dirt was swept.

and now he’s a blade and she’s a blade.
can’t they see the mess they’ve made?
the flames that were once meant for good,
how could that flame be misunderstood?

One by One by One by One
innocent minds become undone.
and One by One by One by One
they fall under the noontime Sun.

so i ask you my brothers, my sisters, my friends
is this how we’ll meet our end?
the flames kindled for the sake of Greed—
do they really serve our deepest need?
