Once You Were Gone

As I wait for you, I hear the rain.
I wonder if I'll ever see you again.
You left months ago.
Now there is snow.

I feel the pain everyday,
Between my father and you it never fades.
I've learned so much,
But without your touch
I'm not so happy now.

I ride by day and cry by night.

Jealous of a bird's flight,
How they fly away,
What I wish I could do by day.

I've lost you now.
There is no sound.
Just the swallow and the creek.
Our child cries,
yet my life still seems bleak.
