Ometeotl

One day

the sky roared

the ground shook

the veins of the Earth began to crack

they erupted

the sky howled

the once crystal clear waters were now replaced with tears of blood...

The veins connecting North, Central, and South America

had been pried open.

My ancestors were raped into the next centuries,

suppressed, assimiliated, and nearly exterminated.

We were robbed of land, family, and dignity.

But

they never managed to tame our hearts,

our fire of love that guides us in the dark.

Rising from the ashes,

I am the voice of the voiceless;

I'm the one the elitist wanna avoid,

for my song carries their doom.

From the deepest, innermost corners of my soul there flows a love, a voice, a song, a message that respects, unites, and uplifts all vessels of life.

This US soil raised me.

Mi México lindo y querido

you birthed me.

The Andes of Ecuador you ignited me.

¡Todo América es mi América!

All of America is my America!

We are one,

we are whole.

We are the prophecy,

we are the potential.

Con el viento venimos cantando la profecia del aquila y el condor.

Ometeotl

May what is dual unite to create.

We are manifesting a world rooted in coexistence, cooperation, and love;

we feed love into the broken justice system we know today.

We fight to filter all this pollution,

in the soil, the water, the air, our hearts, our minds.

In lak'ech ala kin ,

it's not tatted on my arm just because it looks nice.

Way beyond just a Mayan saying,

it's our way of living.

We raise our voices and stand in solidarity with the Earth,

the source of all wealth and well being.

For everyone who came before,

and for all the generations to come...

We fight for a sustainable future, a fair society, and a loving global community.

Re-establishing the sacred circle of life,

where we all stand as equals.

We are infiltrating all channels, our revolution is not linear.

Grassroots, global, singing, rapping, protesting, voting, writing, building...

Together we are rising...

In lak'ech ala kin
