"Oh my sweet America, I love you"

Bang, bang, pop, pop, DEAD

The color of America's freedom

comes bleeding from the head

A life that was once true

is now a sentence within a jail

A vision that once was America's dream

is now a food stamp card or a riot yell

The life that you once imagined

is now slowly coming undone

What happened to America's freedom and dreams?

What happened to having peace and becoming one?

Oh, America

What happened to your beauty?

We spit and throw trash and act like it is not our duty

Like it is not our duty,

to take care and maintain?

A place that was once home to the most royal and mundane

My hope is for my home, America the true

That people would begin to have some respect

when they see that flag go up with the red, white and blue.

Oh my sweet America, I love you.
