Oh me, Oh life

I was born and thrust into a world I was not prepared for.

I learned to swim in a world that kept trying to drown me

but it was not easy.

I ended up in hospitals and rehabs

and was constantly surrounded by the smell of bleach and urine.

And yet...

I recognize that within me,

there lies a universe.

It thrives on poetry and follows the beat of 12/8.

It is full of flowers and blue skies

and the way one feels when he or she realizes what it means to be truly alive.

I was born and thrust into a world that I was not prepared for,

but now, I do not think this world is prepared for me.
