All we ever hear about are the gas masks and Dr. King. Or the buses and Rosa Park's. Oh they were there alright but they were not alone. Bayard Rustin was there, but does anyone really care. Do our teachers really care to let us know that he was the man behind those men. And that elder mother and father who waited at home while their children went outside to march, to protest, to take part. They were their too. That little boy who lost his father to a brutal beating, left to grow up father less and filled with hatred. He was their too. And when that boy decided to do a different thing and turn his hatred into a love for something worthy. Does that not make him a hero too?

So are you really telling me that the only people in the Civil Rights movement were White and Black.
Well if that's not what you're telling me, then what are you saying?
And are you also TEACHING me that their were no White People who tried to help Black People during this time. Because if that is so, then that means that you are teaching me that Abraham Lincoln had inspired no white people.

I just want to say thank you. But I can't believe that I am only saying thank you to about 20 well-known people. Do you know who Barbara Rose Johns Powell is? Sure you don't. But I bet you know what so and so wore to the Grammys. Or what John, Dick, and Harry did last night. That's because you bothered to research that. But don't care enough to research this. Spottswood W. Robinson III. Do you at least know him. I didn't think so. That's that ish I don't like. Oh it was a struggle alright, but I'm just saying that they were there too.
