Oh, Deer!

Like a deer leaping

Running through the sea forest

It came

Into a lonely island across the sea

I heard of it--jumping fishes flinging the town

It came

Some shouted, some warned

O dear! A sea dear! Mercy be upon us

Still, it came

Grazing rice plantations

Displacing many or they died

It came

Shaking rooftops and people

Taking people as it continued to rain

It went

The papers listed names of those

Missing? Dead? Those many unclaimed

Oh. Dear.
