An Ode to Jewels

Clothing could never warrant me dressed

For I am naked without you, my Jewels

Gold! your chains' yellow hue draped on my chest

Liken the skin beneath them beautiful

My rings are not just simple silver bands

But another cent'ry on each finger

A jade heart's charm brings me prosperity

Rubies lend me royal of my own lands

You see, for me, jewelry is much finer

Than could be any and all accessories

You, Jewels are my armor,

My flawless shining shield.
