Ode to Amigos

Dear friends,
You know who you are.
In a few short months, our frivolous adventures will come to an end.
Although we may be far, far away
We'll still be connected in every single way.
So here's to all the good and the bad.
We can finally call ourselves grads.

It all started freshmen year of high school.
To be honest, I found you kind of weird.
Your obsession with TV shows, movies, Disney, pretty much anything animated- I found uncool.
But then, I discovered there was more to the eye than initially appeared.
You have the corniest sense of humor.
And you overcame a phyllodes tumor.
You have the best mom in town.
And I can truly say that its been a pleasure having you around.

I can't believe it took so long.
Senior year, calc class, we finally clicked.
All it took was getting the same test question wrong.
Let me rewind to the beginning real quick.
I always thought you were a total nerd.
If someone had told me that you were the girl I'd spend my entire senior year with, I'd think "That's absurd!"
Little did I know that we've been living parallel lives.
Stay in my life, Mr. Briggs. Without you, I don't think I can survive.

Best for last, they say.
More like, I forgot, and had to add you in somewhere.
Whether its the respect we hold for Kanye
Or the love for Steph Curry we share,
There are only a few things we can agree on.
One is that the best place to work is Kumon.
Despite the 226 mile distance,
I doubt it'll make a difference.

They say high school friendships never last.
Let's prove that wrong, and make this forever.
High school's in the past.
Its time we embark on a new endeavor.
To all of you,
See you in a few.
Thanks for being the best.
"I'm way up. I feel blessed."
