The Ocean Blue

Down in the ocean blue

The hell of scripture lies.

Seductive mysteries

That blind the brightest eyes.

Sirens draped in blood;

The shadowed forms of tortured creatures.

Angels trapped in white;

A soundless hall of sinless preachers.

The devil, charming teeth spread wide

Brings monologues of gold –

To masses, mad with need to find

The riches beyond hold.

The crazed – unfocused – focusing

Set sail in blinded want.

A daze – unnoticed – noticing

The victims of the hunt.
