O Firefly

O firefly,

Little firefly,

There’s so much I do not know.

Some say you’re just a mean creature,

But you, for one, can glow.

O flower,

Delicate flower,

There’s so much I cannot see.

Like how you, through wind and rain,

Keep your unsurpassed beauty.

O pine,

Majestic white pine,

I cannot understand it all.

I can’t always hold my head up high

But you stand straight and tall.

O cloud,

Far ranging cloud,

I am just a girl.

But you can change to the best form of yourself

And get to see the world.

O hill,

Magnificent northern hill,

I for one can’t lead.

But you are always strong

Supporting others’ feet.

O valley,

Great but humble valley,

I can’t always stand up to wrong.

But you alone

Can bring the mountain down.
