November Walks
Location
Whispering winds sounded through the cool night
Shivering, trembling, she quickened her pace.
Not sure why, the still shadow gave her fright
Unknown to her, the shadow had a face.
The sound of footsteps made fear take over,
And terrified, she broke into a sprint.
The eerie stranger, not a bit sober,
Was suddenly lost into the night’s tint.
Relieved, the shy girl stopped to catch her breath
So sure she had eluded the danger.
Eyes closed, she thought she was safe from death
Only to open and find the stranger.
Fighting for her life, she soon remembered
Mother’s warning, “Never walk alone in November."
